Our 880 mile trip in 2 days

We Just got back from a really long trip. My sister and her 4 kids and I took on a really big trip. It started out small enough just a quick trip to Enid to pick up mom. She was coming back from Dallas. So my sis and I thought we would start out at 6am and go to Hinton. It was just an hour and a half further. We wanted to show the kids where we used to live. We had all day mom wasn't going to be in Enid till that pm. I got to see my best friend from high school in Hydro only 10 miles from Hinton. At this point everything was going good. We were just waiting on mom to call and tell us the time to meet her. It was only 2pm. we knew we had a good 5 hrs to go. As we are setting down to lunch my lsd calls and says we might have to go to Dallas to pick up mom. The lady that was to pick her up still hasn't shown up. My mother is disabled and the thought of her just sitting in the hotel really got us steamed. She was in the lobby, she had checked out that morning. As we are leaving we get a call saying head out to Dallas. Then mom calls and says that the lady should be there in 20 mins. pull over in El Reno and wait to see what we need to do. So we go to Wal-mart and wait and we wait and then we wait some more. An HOUR later we call mom and see what is going on. The lady still hasn't shown. We are to say the least mad!!!. We tell her to check into the hotel that we are coming to get her. So we start out get into OKC and she calls back saying that the lady has picked her up. Now remember our mother had been sitting there since 12:30 and it is now almost 5pm. She hasn't eaten or had anything to drink since 6 am. OH MY WORD. Nobody treats our mother like that. She tells us to meet her in Ardmore and we will just stay the night there. She gets there at 7 pm. When they stopped for gas, her leg hurt so bad she couldn't get out to get herself anything to eat or drink. she didn't get to eat until almost 8 pm. The kids were shoving drinks down her on the way to the restaurant. We got home at 5 pm the next day.
I want to say thanks to my nieces who were excellent thru the whole trip.

More of the country

This is the bottom of an outhouse. Can someone tell me why the holes are different sizes? And if you were a small child and you picked the wrong hole, would you fall in? SCAREY!!!! You could die in a pile of poo. How sad.


Grose!!!!! This gives me the willies. But at the same time it's pretty cool looking. What is it you ask? I HAVE NO IDEA. I am assuming a spider did it. A really BIG spider


This cat looks harmless, IT'S NOT that sucker almost chewed my arm off. Viscious little thing. Joking. Like you didn't know that already.


Pretty purple flowers. Wild flowers are pretty cool. They take care of themselves. Those are the kind of plants I like.


Thirsty? I can't even imagine how many animals have used that river for certain things. Grose.

My country outing

My day in the back woods of somewhere. I can't really tell you where some of these were shot. My friend and I just sort of turned when we wanted. I think we even landed in tim buck two once. Don't really know for sure. We had a blast. We spent 4 hrs just driving aimlessly. We plan on doing it again sometime soon.

Good Morning

Since I was a child I have seen this sign. Way back when I was a kid they didn't have the crosses up. Just the rocks. I am afraid I did not get the best angle of it. Had I not been in a hurry to get home I would have experimented a little. I would love to go back and get it at sunrise. Maybe I could talk my sweet adorable little sis to go with me. Hint Hint

Fire

I know, what weird pics. But I like to look at fire. No I am not a piro. In fact fire is bad, very bad. But man can it be cool to look at from a distance. I did start this fire tho. In my sd's bbq grill thingamajig.

4th of July

I love the 4th of July for so many reasons. We have started a tradition. It started about 4 yrs ago. We invade mom and dad's back yard. We set up tents and the pool and have a blast. We bbq and eat all the meals outside. This year David (dad) won a WII from work. So needless to say we had a tournament. It was a blast. Everybody played. We did Boxing, bowling, tennis, sceet shooting, and cow racing. Mom gave out prizes and certificates. It was great. We look forward to this. This is like a mini vacation.
