I'm 40 today!!!!!

Mom and David

Dad and Pat

Me, Ron and Renita

Mom and me

Becky

WOW !
I have to say it's turning out to be just another day.
How sad is it that it is just another day.
When did that happen? Does that happen when you get older and don't want to face how old you are getting?
I don't know because I am happy with my age. I have gotten to do a lot of cool things in my life. I wouldn't change a thing. Not really.
Oh sure I would love to have children of my own and I would love to be thin again. I would have taken school more seriously and gotten the education I denied myself.
I'm not complaining, really I love my life. Everything that I have done has been part of the plan. Maybe not mine but his and I trust his plan. I wouldn't have met my husband had it not been for a series of events that led me back to this town.
So anyway I just wanted to say Thank you to mom and dad.
You guys have been great!!!:)
Thank you to David and Pat their spouses. Without you guys they really wouldn't know the kind of they love they so deserve.
I love you siblings! Thanks for all the torture and love.

Going off to college

How do you prepare for it?
Whether you are dad, mom or step-parent. It is one of the hardest things as parents that you have to do.
How do you not constantly worry about them? Are they eating right, sleeping enough, enjoying life and still being responsible.
How do you relinquish control? When all you want to do is tie them to the bed. It's hard enough when they learn to drive and they go out by themselves, alone with you not there. Ugh. You listen for sirens until they get home.
What do you do when they go away to college? How do you keep track of them? Of course you don't, but man wouldn't you love to?
Then on the other hand you want them gone. You want them to start there lives to see what kind of person they will become. It's exciting because you have only seen a glimpse of that person. You wonder if they will marry and have kids, whether they will continue to be a good person and make a success of themselves.
Does it make it easier on the parents when the teenager is so casual about leaving or causing a major ruckus? When you don't know whether they have packed everything they are going to need. How do you not march up the stairs and check and recheck their stuff. I have found it very hard not to make a list for him.
It's a control thing I'm sure.
We have 2 days until we go with him to drop him off at college. It's nerve racking. I have been his step-mother since he was 7 and it's killing me. I don't want to let him go. I'm terrified for him and at the same time I'm so excited I could just wet myself.
I wish him the best of luck in his chosen field and I hope he has a fulfilling life.

Ugh!!!

Ugh I hate looking for a job.
My problem is I don't know what I want to do. I take that back I know what I want to do. It's just not a way to help support a family. UGH!
What to do? Find a job that isn't going to satisfy me or try and pursue what I want to do?
I know grow up and help support the family. UGH!

Cleo

Cleo was my mom and step-dads dog and today at 10:05 a.m. Cleo was put to rest.
She was 13 yrs old and very sick.
I had the privilege to be with her till the end.
She is better off now with God.
She was a little rat terrier I believe. The only pictures I have of her are not on my computer. I will try and find one from someone and post it.
She was adorable. When they first got her she fit in one hand. She loved crawling into my step-dads overalls and setting up camp. She also loved crawling around to the back of your neck and sleeping.
My sisters (both) kids loved to dress her up in all sorts of clothes. She let them do it to. Her legs would be as stiff as a board, but she let them do anything. She loved those kids.
When the kids would come and visit she was beside herself. She had to be in the mix of things.
She loved climbing up in the chair with you and hunker down.
She will truly be missed.
I have to say Thank You to Renita and her kids. They helped me thru one of the hardest things that I have had to do. Your prayers and love were felt and received. I love you guys!
